- The apartment in paris was very clean and well maintained. It clearly has been remodeled and is of high quality. The location is fantastic, with farmer's market three days a week around the corner and excellent food stores within a 2 minute walking distance. I plan to stay there again next time I visit Paris! - Beautifully appointed apartment for a comfortable, relaxed and calm visit to Paris. The apartment faces the interior courtyard of the building but with wonderful light and air, given its top-of-the-building location. A nearby bakery often perfumes the air. It is extremely quiet with only morning church bells to arouse one and no street or traffic noise. With all the windows closed, the apartment would be silent. The apartment has all modern conveniences and when one small repair was needed for the bottom of the shower door, the extremely pleasant owner had it made promptly. The apartment was a perfect paris vacation rental for us, a senior couple, and the lift was always available. Note that phone calls can only be received on the apt. phone; no local outgoing calls are permitted, thus a cell phone is essential. In addition, all TV programs are in French, no English CNN. We have recommended that all appliance instructions be available in English as well as French. The Place Maubert location could not have been better. We took the RER train in from Charles de Gaulle and it was a short walk with our rolling bags to the apartment. We were met by the extremely cordial manager who helped us with all the apt. specifics. There are metro and bus stops within a few steps of the building. During our one week stay, there were open-air food and antiques markets on three days at the Place Maubert. In addition, street-side markets and grocery stores sell every conceivable food, baked goods, and other needed supplies. Rue Monge is a few blocks from Pont au Double leading directly to the front of Notre Dame, where at night, the lights of Paris and the Bateaux Mouches on the Seine provide the quintessential Parisian experience.
